We Need a Solution.
In North Korea, hundreds of thousands of citizens are being treated inhumanely. By imprisoning entire families that do not know their crimes, Kim Jong II violates a plethora of human rights. In these severely harsh prison camps, prisoners are deprived of their basic human rights and are being tortured and strongly mistreated. The United Nations should come up with a solution to this heartless problem. The best solution is for Kim Jong II to go to the International court. North Korea should also need to allow human rights organizations to investigate and shut down these prison camps. Could you imagine living a life like this? We need to find a solution to this terrible problem to help North Koreans.
What Should We Do?
Marzuki, the UN rapporteur for North Korea, suggests that we should take further action by focusing on the accountability for rights violations. This month, the Un has created a panel so that a strategies can be formed to address the problem ( Dispatches). In my opinion, the best solution is for Kim Jong Un to be sent to the International Criminal Court for his violation of Human Rights. Enough evidence has shown that he is guilty. China should end its forced repatriation and allow the red cross in border areas. Each year, China sends 25,000 Korean refugees back to North Korea. They are then sent back to prison camps for the rest of their lives (Doherty).
